Few changes have been made that deviate from the 2011 model year, but the 2012 GMC Acadia is back and better than ever with seating for the entire family and plenty of cargo space. This crossover SUV features seating for eight passengers and even has a third row that is comfortable and large enough for adult passengers to comfortably ride in; something that is not overly common in third row seating. The Acadia comes with either a second row bench seat, which can be exchanged for two captain’s chairs to change the seating to seven rather than eight.
The 2012 GMC Acadia comes in five trims, each with upgrades that make it a luxurious crossover SUV perfect for families. Standard features in all five models include leather seats, OnStar, a USB port, satellite radio and keyless entry. The SLE trim is the next step up from the base model; it comes with an integrated Bluetooth system, remote start, a power trunk door, parking sensors in the rear and a rear view back up camera. The SLT-1 and SLT-2 add additional features, including heated seats, power front seats with memory functions for two and an upgraded stereo system.
The Denali is the most upgrade model in the 2012 GMC Acadia lineup; it comes standard with every upgrade available in the first four models along with the addition of a navigation system, a panoramic sunroof and a back seat DVD entertainment system. The rest of the models have the option of a sunroof and navigation system with the exception of the base SL model. All 2012 GMC Acadia models have a 3.6 liter V6 engine with 288 horsepower under the hood. For a large crossover vehicle that accommodates up to eight passengers, the fuel economy is good at 19 miles per gallon combined.
