The All New, Motorcycle-Inspired Chevy Sonic: A Revamp of the Aveo

This year, Chevy introduced the all new Chevy Sonic sedan and hatchback. This new car has replaced the existing Chevy Aveo, which was in production from the early 2000s through 2011.

The Chevy Sonic is similar to its predecessor, the Aveo, in some ways. However, it is clear that the vehicle has received a complete overhaul. For starters, the body of the vehicle, especially the front end, has a sleek and modern look. The interior of the vehicle itself was inspired by the dashboard on a motorcycle, and this is immediately recognizable upon entering the vehicle. The dashboard of the Sonic features an LED numerical display rather than a standard speedometer and gauges.

Another benefit of the new 2012 Sonic is the added feature of having a USB port available in the vehicle, in addition to the traditional cigarette lighter charging dock, popular for cell phones and other devices. The USB port is a huge advantage to people who want to be able to plug in their devices without the use of a special car charger.

As far as the mechanics of the Chevy Sonic goes, the engine is a standard four cylinder and the vehicle is offered in both automatic and manual transmission. However, one popular option that many buyers of the Sonic are going with is the turbocharged engine, which adds a bit of pep and pickup, making the vehicle even more fun to drive than it already is.

Finally, the vehicle is offered in many bright and bold colors, such as a bright red/orange, along with other standard colors such as a sharp black.
