The Regal for 2012 is Buick’s mid-size sport sedan that can seat five people comfortably. The Base version (there is also a Turbo and a GS version) is equipped with a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection and front-wheel drive. It can put out 182 horsepower at 6700 rpm. A six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and 4-wheel anti-lock brakes are also standard features on the Base version.
The 18-inch alloy wheels and 4-wheel independent suspension provide a firm and steady ride, and passengers have the benefit of protection by both front and rear head airbags in addition to dual side airbags in the front. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that the Regal Base gets 31 MPG on the highway, and it is designated a flex fuel vehicle (FFV) because it can run on a mixture of gasoline and ethanol.
The Regal Base interior comes with a generous package of passenger amenities that includes dual climate control, heated, leather seats in front, AM-FM radio and CD player connected to a seven-speaker sound system, Bluetooth wireless, satellite radio, internet access, driver and passenger vanity mirrors and front and rear cup holders.
For safety and convenience, the driver can control the audio system from the steering wheel. The Regal comes with a basic warranty of 48 months or 50,000 miles, and a roadside assistance plan covering 60 months or 100,000 miles.
